Cameron Laird's personal notes on ksh

Home Page For The KornShell Command And Programming Language

The KSH-93 - Frequently Asked Questions page answers, among others, such questions as, "What is {KornShell,ksh,ksh93}?"

I've written about ksh several times, including an August 2001 laud of it as a good starting point for those new to Unix. Doug McClure finds "glaring" fault in this piece, by the way: he says I overstate (or fail to correct Korn's overselling of) the batch compatibility of tcsh and ksh, I underemphasize the line-editing compatibility of the two, and fail to say enough about bash and the MacOS-built-in zsh.

The Tcl-ers' Wiki has good commentary on ksh.
