Should I use Motif or Tk?

Tk. That's my answer, in general. Curiously, I've written one book chapter and one magazine article on Motif in the past year [give refs]; although placing articles about Tk is harder (at least for me), neither editor balked when I concluded the pieces by advocating Tk in preference to Motif.

D. Richard Hipp puts the case for Tk forcefully in his late October 1997 posting to Usenet.
