Should I use Motif or
Tk?
Tk. That's my answer, in general. Curiously, I've written
one book chapter and one magazine article on Motif in
the past year [give refs]; although placing articles
about Tk is harder (at least for me), neither editor
balked when I concluded the pieces by advocating Tk
in preference to Motif.
D. Richard Hipp puts the case for Tk forcefully in his
late October 1997
posting to Usenet.

Larry Virden has generously pointed out that a correct version of
this page will also cover "... ctaxt, Moat, TCLMOTIF, PortBox,
tclMotif, [and] Visual Tcl." My thanks to Larry, who clearly
has too much free time on his hands.
